WINDHORSE HABITATS
We offer you our conference centre, Juniper Lodge, as well as houses, forest cabins,
and camping area. No matter where you stay, you will have 200 acres of amazing nature to roam in:
old-growth forest, permaculture gardens, orchards, beaver meadows, and the celebration grounds
of the high meadow. If you are a water lover, the lake, river, and ponds are waiting for you.
Many people come to Windhorse to rest, heal, and learn. It is that kind of place.
It is also a place of enrichment: personally, culturally, and ecologically.
At a time of great and justifiable concern about Covid-19, the natural freshness of Windhorse is a safe refuge.

While you're here, take a canoe for a paddle on the lake - or maybe a swim or a skate depending
on the season. Book a guided night walk in the forest.
Enjoy the wood-fired sauna and, when you get too hot, dive into the pond just outside.
Take a garden or forest tour, guided or self-guided.
If you're bringing a program, ask us about facilitation.
Small and simple wedding? We'd love to help you celebrate!

JUNIPER LODGEThe primary facility for meetings and group retreats is Juniper Lodge on a hill overlooking the farm; it is a kind of gateway to the forest. Since its completion in 2007, it has been the centre for hosting many group retreats: health and wellness, personal development, leadership training, business off-sites, family gatherings and celebratory events.

Are we a conference centre, a program centre, a place for solitary retreat, a venue for celebrations and family time, or some kind of hybrid? You decide.
Whatever we are, our purpose is "Connecting People in Nature", offering opportunities for all of us to connect with ourselves, with each other, and with our whole environment. The natural landscape of Windhorse is the ultimate networking host.
Our meeting and dining spaces are right sized for up to 40 people, and the outdoor spaces can welcome many more. Individuals and smaller groups can be accommodated in our cabins and campgrounds, which offer opportunities to get right into the forest, being in nature up close with yourself and the non-human beings that also live in this place.
As a guest or visitor, you are welcome to enjoy richness of Windhorse at your leisure, and we also offer various tours and facilitation options if you're looking for a more structured introduction to the land and its features.
Guided Enrichments to choose from:
Night walking
Contemplative nature practice
Sustainability tours
Meditation instruction
Leadership exercises in the forest
For your stay in Juniper Lodge or Wentzell Farmhouse we can offer the most delicious meals from organic seasonal vegetables and fruits, many grown right here in this soil.
We can assist you with process design and/or facilitation for your meetings as well as contemplative enrichment in nature, including tours and guided night walks in the forest.
On your own, you are welcome to swim/canoe/skate in or on Wentzells Lake or enjoy the sauna at the edge of a forest pond. Aimless wandering on the 20km of forest trails always is appropriate.
Please note that we have a firm no pets policy.
Have a question or looking to book a space? Get in touch and we’ll be glad to help.

"Within this past year, I visited Windhorse twice with two dear friends, staying in Juniper Lodge; once to attend a plant-based culinary retreat, and once to attend a yoga retreat. On each visit, between the forest, the lake, the farm, the people, and the food, three days at Windhorse Farm gave me a renewed sense of freshness, vitality, and connection with our Earth that I couldn't have imagined cultivating in less than a month anywhere else.
I talked about Windhorse so much and loved it so much that my family insisted I bring them to Windhorse (my third visit - lucky me!) for a four-day cabin retreat in the forest. My husband, two sons (ages 12 and 8) and I spent these days enjoying everything Windhorse has to offer - we swam, canoed, napped, wandered and simply soaked in the breathtaking beauty, breezes, freedom, and kindheartedness that is everything Windhorse.
A love of all beings and of our planet permeates everything at Windhorse and can be felt wherever you go. The land, and the businesses and people that are hosted by that land, make for a profoundly unique place - one that our society needs. I'm grateful it exists and has been offered up for the benefit of all of us."
